Preparation of mulberry compote:
Step 1: prepare the ingredients.
First, pour the right amount of purified water into a deep pan and put it on a strong fire, let it boil. Meanwhile, we sort out the fresh mulberry, while removing the stalks. Then we transfer it to a colander, rinse thoroughly under thin streams of shower, so as not to damage the berries. After that, put the rest of the ingredients that will be needed to prepare the drink on the kitchen table, and proceed to the next step.
Step 2: cook the mulberry compote.
When the liquid in the pan begins to boil, pour sugar into it and cook light syrup, periodically stirring it with a wooden kitchen spoon. After about 3-4 minutes, we send almost dried berries to the pan, reduce the heat to a moderate level and cook the compote with a slight boil 10-12 minutes.
Then we turn off the stove, add citric acid to the pan, mix everything to a homogeneous consistency, cover the compote with a lid so that the gap remains, and cool it to room temperature.
Then we filter the drink through a fine mesh sieve into a separate clean dish and act as desired. If stewed fruit for children - serve it immediately, if for adults - we cool and serve with ice.
Step 3: serve the mulberry compote.
Mulberry compote after preparation is infused, and then served at room temperature or chilled. It is served in carafes, jugs or in portions in glasses, bowls or glasses, previously decorated with fresh berries and mint leaves. The taste of this drink is sweet and sour with a delicate silky aroma, and it is pleasant to savor it with anything, especially on hot summer days. Enjoy it!
