Rhubarb pie


We clean the rhubarb stalks and cut their pieces. Then sprinkle semolina over them and mix.

We put the rhubarb aside and take care of the dough.


Mix the yolks well with the sugar until they turn white. Then add the milk and oil and mix.

Mix the flour with the baking powder and incorporate it into the dough. The result will be a thicker dough, but still flowing.

Pour the dough into the tray lined with baking paper and spread it on the entire surface of the tray. Place the rhubarb pieces over the dough.

Put the pie in the oven, on the right heat, for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt. Then add the sugar and lemon juice and mix until the foam becomes shiny.

Remove the cake from the oven and place the foam on top. Bake on low heat until nicely browned on top.

Let cool and then portion.

Yellow and fluffy, more like muffins, who would have thought? :)) But to be really cool, the rhubarb went to the bottom and the meringue on top doesn't really feel like a lot so I made a tray of meringues (we talk about meringues when they come out ok at least once …).

Ingredients for pirojok recipe, Russian pie
