Citrus salad with pomegranate syrup

Make a syrup from 100 ml of water, sugar and star anise.

Stir and simmer for 8 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the pomegranate syrup.

Peel the oranges and grapefruit with a sharp knife.

Recover citrus slices without white skin - the supreme.

Place the citrus slices on a serving plate directly or in a deep bowl.

Pour the syrup over them.

Leave to cool for at least 2 hours before serving.


The benefits of pomegranate liqueur are obvious, if not abused, however this drink has a number of contraindications:

If you want to arm yourself against the winter with a natural medicinal preparation, try this homemade recipe. It contains ingredients with remarkable therapeutic properties, which can strengthen our body to get through the cold period without too many episodes of colds, flu or infections.

This tonic is very similar to Master Tonic, in the sense that it is like a bomb against diseases. Master Tonic contains many spices: ginger, hot peppers, horseradish, garlic and onions. Another variant is this Antibiotic Tonic, which also includes turmeric.

Ginger and Turmeric Syrup

Ginger, turmeric and citrus tonic & # 8211 recipe

The intense orange color of this preparation is like a ray of sunshine on gloomy autumn-winter days. Contains antioxidants, vitamin C, antiviral and anti-inflammatory compounds. In addition to raising energy and health, this tonic can be a useful remedy for colds, sore throats and muscle aches. Ginger is also thermogenic, stimulates circulation and produces a strong warming effect on the body.

• 500 g of honey
• 1 piece of ginger root
• 1 tablespoon turmeric
• 1 lemon
• 1 orange
• 70 ml of apple cider vinegar

The recipe is very simple. Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice. The amount depends on how much each one bears.

Clean the lemon and orange with apple cider vinegar and baking soda, using a toothbrush, to remove pesticides. Then put them on the grater, and keep the resulting peel. Then squeeze the lemon and orange.

Now add all the ingredients in a large glass jar: freshly grated ginger, freshly grated citrus peel, freshly squeezed citrus juice, turmeric powder and vinegar.

Mix everything and finally pour the honey. Stir again until smooth.

Put the lid on, and let the mixture soak for a few hours, or overnight.

If you want, you can strain the syrup, or you can consume it as such, with ginger and citrus peel. It would be a shame to throw them away.

Keep the jar in the refrigerator, tightly closed.

You can take 1 tablespoon, 2 times a day, or 3, if you have already caught a cold, or you have pain. Both ginger and turmeric have strong, scientifically proven anti-inflammatory properties.

  • 1 medium cucumber
  • a few basil leaves (I had Greek, the one with small leaves)
  • juice from 1/2 lime

  • salt and pepper

Wash the salad and drain it well. We slice the thin cucumber, cut the avocado into cubes and break the room by hand. Put them all in a bowl, sprinkle the basil leaves, sprinkle with lime juice, olive oil, pomegranate syrup and season with salt and pepper. Stir in the salad and serve. Very good, slightly sweet from pomegranate syrup, and the basil gives it a fresh note. I ate it plain.
