Herring Salad Ingredients

  1. Beets 2 pcs.
  2. Herring fillet 300 g.
  3. Orange 1 pc.
  4. 1/2 parsley bunch
  5. Red onion 1 pc.
  6. Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l
  7. Salt 1/3 tsp
  8. Ground pepper 1/3 tsp
  9. Sugar 1 pinch.

Making a salad with herring:

Wrap the washed beets in foil, bake at 220 degrees for about 1 hour, until cooked. Let the beets cool, peel. Cut into slices. Peel the herring, disassemble on the fillet, and remove the bones with the help of cooking tweezers. Cut the fillet into 1 cm strips. Chop the parsley. Peel the onion cut into half rings. Wash and dry the orange, remove a little zest. Cut the orange in half, squeeze the juice. Pour juice into a saucepan, add a pinch of sugar and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, cool. Add oil, ground pepper to juice and beat with a fork. Tear lettuce leaves in a bowl, add herring, beets, parsley, onions, salt to taste. Season salad with sauce and mix. Put the prepared salad on a plate and garnish (sprinkle) with orange peel. Salad is ready to be served. Enjoy your meal!
