Cooking millet porridge in a pot:
Step 1: prepare the ingredients.
First, take a clay pot, fill it with cold water and let it brew in this form for 15 to 20 minutes. This process is necessary so that the clay pores soften and the dishes do not burst during baking, and the food is more juicy in a soaked pot. Then we cover the countertop with a kitchen towel, put yellow millet on it and sort it out, removing spoiled grains, as well as any other garbage.
Then we transfer the cereal into a deep bowl, fill it with ordinary running water and rinse thoroughly. We do this several times, constantly draining the liquid until it becomes transparent. After that, we drop the millet in a colander and leave it until it is used.
Then we wash dried apricots with raisins under a stream of cold running water. We dry dried fruits with paper kitchen towels, put them on a cutting board, cut into smaller pieces and put into a deep plate.
Step 2: prepare the millet porridge in a pot.
Now we take a clay pot and put dried millet into it. Pour purified water with milk there, add salt, sugar, dried apricots and raisins. Using a tablespoon, mix all the ingredients to a uniform consistency and cover the pot with a lid. Next we put it in a cold oven and heat it up to 180 - 190 degrees Celsius. Cooking porridge for 50 - 60 minutes, then turn off the gas and leave it in the oven for another 15 - 17 minutes. Immediately you can’t get the dish, clay dishes may burst from a sudden temperature drop.
After the necessary time has passed, we put on kitchen gloves in our hands, rearrange the pot on a wooden cutting board, previously laid on the countertop. Insist aromatic porridge under a closed lid 3 to 4 minutes. After that, put it on a plate or leave it in a pot and serve to the table.
Step 3: serve the millet porridge in a pot.
Millet porridge in a pot is served hot as a second course. It is served with butter, which is diced and laid out in a small bowl. It is pleasant to drink this dish with warm fresh milk or fresh, only brewed tea. Tasty, healthy and inexpensive!
