Making a cake with dried fruits and toffee:

Step 1: prepare the butter for the test base.

Spread the butter on a cutting board and cut into small pieces. The crushed component is transferred to a free saucer and temporarily set aside at room temperature. Thus, the oil will become soft, and we can mix it with other ingredients without worries.

Step 2: prepare the dough.

Transfer the soft butter into a deep bowl. Pour powdered sugar and vanilla sugar here. Using a mixer or blender, at medium speed beat all the ingredients to a homogeneous mass.

After that, we sift the flour into a bowl to get rid of possible lumps and saturate the component with oxygen (then the dough will turn out softer and more tender). At low speed, continue to whisk the mixture to the state of crumbs. At the end, put the egg yolks in the container and pour the milk. Once again, we beat everything well with an electric appliance until smooth. We get a soft dough that does not stick to our hands.

We give it the shape of a ball, wrap it in a food bag and put it in the refrigerator to insist for 1 hour.

Step 3: prepare the test basis for the cake.

Lubricate the baking dish with a small amount of vegetable oil. We take out the dough from the refrigerator, free it from the bag and put it into the mold. With clean hands, we stretch the dough over the entire container, giving it the shape of a cake. Attention: Be sure to form the sides, otherwise subsequently our filling will spread on a plate. Now we make a few punctures with a fork and put the baking container in the refrigerator for 15 minutest
After that, we take out the container, cover it with paper and pour over dried peas or beans. Attention: this must be done so that in the process of baking the dough retains its original shape. We put the container in preheated to a temperature 180 ° C oven and prepare the basis for the cake 30 minutes. After this time, with the help of kitchen tacks, we get out the baking dish and check the readiness of the dough. To do this, remove the paper and look: if the dough looks still damp, put it back in the oven and extend the time for 10-15 minutes. At the end, turn off the oven, and take out the form and set aside to cool to room temperature.

Step 4: prepare dried fruits.

We lay out all dried fruits in a medium bowl and fill with ordinary cool water. Leave aside to insist for 30 minutes. After this, drain the water and wash the components a couple of times under running water. We spread dried apricots, prunes and raisins on kitchen paper towels and wipe dry from excess liquid.

Then we spread in turn large ingredients on a cutting board and finely chop with a knife. Pieces of dried apricots and prunes together with raisins are transferred to a bowl and temporarily set aside.

Step 5: prepare the walnuts.

We lay the walnuts on a cutting board and use a knife to grind them into pieces the size of raisins. Then we transfer them to a container with dried fruits.

Step 6: prepare the toffee.

Put butter and sugar in a saucepan and put on a small fire. With constant stirring of the ingredients with a tablespoon, we bring everything to a homogeneous liquid mass.

After that, pour the cream into the container and continue to cook the toffee for 15-20 minutes over low heat until thickened. Attention: butterscotch should begin to move away from the walls of the stewpan. Immediately after that, turn off the hotplate and proceed to the next step in baking.

Step 7: prepare the filling with toffee.

When the toffee has cooled, pour it into a bowl with chopped dried fruits and walnuts. Mix everything thoroughly with a tablespoon until smooth.

Step 8: preparing a cake with dried fruits and toffee - the first stage.

At the base of the dough with a tablespoon, evenly spread the filling with toffee and temporarily set aside. In the meantime, prepare a liquid chocolate coating.

Step 9: prepare the chocolate coating for the cake.

First, cut the butter into small pieces in advance and transfer it to a clean saucer. It should become soft.

In a free medium bowl, break the chocolate into pieces.

Pour cream into a small pot and place the container on a small fire. As soon as the milk liquid boils, turn off the burner. Pour cream from a saucepan into a container with pieces of chocolate in a thin stream. At the same time, we mix everything together with a tablespoon so that we get a homogeneous liquid mass. At the end, add pieces of butter and mix everything again until smooth. We put the bowl in the refrigerator so that the chocolate coating can turn into a thick cream.

Step 10: preparing a cake with dried fruits and toffee - the second stage.

We take out the cooled chocolate cream from the refrigerator and apply it evenly with a tablespoon to the surface of the cake. Put the pastries in the refrigerator to cool on 1-2 hours. That's it, the cake with dried fruits and toffee is ready!

Step 11: serve the cake with dried fruits and toffee.

We put the finished cake on a special flat plate, cut into portioned pieces and serve to the dessert table. Such pastries are ideally combined with tea, coffee or warm milk.
Good appetite!
