Cooking millet porridge with pumpkin:
Step 1: prepare the pumpkin.
There are countless types of this wonderful vegetable - pumpkins! And they are all tasty in their own way. Today we will cook a dish of nutmeg pumpkin, as it has a pleasant taste of nutmeg, and it is also very sweet and juicy. So, we cut the peel with a knife from a pumpkin and, if necessary, cleanse the seeds. Rinse lightly under running water, wipe dry with kitchen paper towels and lay on a cutting board.
We cut the pumpkin into small pieces, about the length and width of about 1 centimeter. Shredded vegetable is placed in a deep plate.
Step 2: prepare the millet.
Pour millet into a sieve and rinse under running warm water. To check the cleanliness of the cereal, just place the sieve in a deep plate and pour water into it. If the liquid is transparent, it means it is clean and you can put it aside so that all the water in the glass.
Step 3: prepare millet porridge with pumpkin.
We spread the pieces of pumpkin in a free pan and fill with ordinary cold water so that the liquid slightly covers them. We put the container on medium heat and wait for the water to begin to boil. Cook the vegetable for 5-7 minutes.
After this time, carefully spread the washed millet in the pan, mix everything well with a tablespoon or wooden spoon and continue to cook the dish until the water has completely evaporated from it. Important: mix the ingredients from time to time so that the porridge itself does not burn on the bottom of the pan.
Pour into container immediately 1/2 part of milk, pour sugar and salt. Mix well and continue to cook millet porridge with pumpkin for 20 minutes. Attention: gradually add milk as it is absorbed and from time to time stir everything with a spoon so that the cereal is cooked evenly.
After the dish is ready, turn off the burner, cover the pan with a lid and let it brew for 20-30 minutes. Important: the finished dish should not be dry, as long as the porridge is infused, it will continue to absorb milk.
Step 4: serve millet porridge with pumpkin.
Before serving, sprinkle millet porridge with pumpkin on plates, using a wooden spoon and sprinkle a dish of ground cinnamon on top of the dish. If desired, this yummy can be decorated with apple slices or tangerine slices. Porridge turns out to be very tasty, fragrant, and most importantly children's, as kids are happy to eat it.
