Shakshuka


Ingredients for Making Shakshuki

Cooking Shakshuki:

Step 1: Prepare the vegetables.


First of all, peel the tomatoes from the skin. To do this, pour clean water into a small saucepan, put on the stove for maximum heat and bring the liquid to a boil. Then we dip the tomatoes in boiling water for 30 - 60 seconds, take out and remove the skin, and to make it easier to peel, you can make two shallow cross-cuts on the tomatoes in advance - crosswise. After we shift them onto a cutting board and cut into small cubes or arbitrary pieces about 1 cm in size.

Peel the onion and garlic, rinse under running water and chop. Onions in a cube or half rings, and garlic in very small pieces.

Rinse the bell pepper under running water, cut the tail with the seeds, rinse again and transfer to a cutting board. Grind either a beautiful straw or a cube (1 cm.)
We rinse under a running water a small bunch of greens and chop on a cutting board with a sharp knife. If it is not the season of fresh greens, then you can not add it to the dish or replace it with dried one.

Step 2: Fry the vegetables.


Now turn on the medium heat on the stove, pour a little vegetable oil into the pan and put on the burner. First we send the onions to fry until soft, periodically stirring with a kitchen spatula. Then add the garlic, fry for another 1 - 2 minutes and send bell peppers with tomatoes, herbs and salt to the pan. Mix everything thoroughly until smooth. Stew until boiling.

Step 3: Fry the eggs.


We wash the eggs under hot running water, make indentations in the vegetables and break them there.

Then salt and fry again until the eggs are fully cooked.

Step 4: Serve the Shakshuka.


The dish is served hot for breakfast. It can be supplemented with slices of fresh bread, as well as fragrant tea or freshly squeezed juice. Enjoy a delicious and simple meal!

Recipe Tips:

- Garlic can be minced using a special garlic.
