Ingredients for making chokeberry jam with cherry leaf

  1. Chokeberry 2 kg
  2. Sugar 1.6 kilograms

Making jam from chokeberry with cherry leaf:

Step 1: prepare the berries.


Carefully sort the berries of chokeberry, remove from the branches, peel the leaves. Pour them into a colander or sieve and rinse well several times with warm water. After securing the berries in a strainer or colander by weight and let the excess liquid drain.

Step 2: boil the cherry leaves.


Rinse the cherry leaves well and sort them out. Shake them off excess moisture and put them in a pan, fill with a liter of clean water (water should completely cover the leaves).
Put a pan of cherry leaves on a fire, bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes over medium-low heat.
Filter the finished broth through a sieve or colander, and discard the leaves, we will no longer need them.

Step 3: boil the syrup.


Return the broth to the pan, add sugar to it and boil it properly. Sugar should be completely dissolved in syrup.

Step 4: prepare jam from chokeberry with cherry leaf.


Pour the berries of chokeberry into the syrup. On low heat, bring everything to a boil, and then continue to cook, stirring all the time and removing the foam. Boil the berries in syrup for 5 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and let its contents cool for several hours or one night at room temperature. And so that nothing and no one else gets into the jam, cover the pan, for example, with dense gauze folded several times.
When the jam has cooled, boil it again over low heat and boil for 5 minutes. And then again send to cool at room temperature. Then repeat everything again. Total you need to boil jam three times and cool it after.
After boiling jam from chokeberry for the fourth time, it is no longer necessary to cool it, but you need to immediately arrange it in prepared jars.

Step 5: we prepare jam from aronia with cherry leaf.


Rinse glass jars with soda and sterilize them after, along with the lids.
Pour the hot chokeberry jam into the jars and, while not closing the lids, let it cool. When the jars and their contents are at room temperature, close all the capron lids.

Step 6: serve aronia with cherry leaf jam.


Chokeberry jam with cherry leaf turns out to be very tasty and fragrant, just like cherry. Serve it for tea, spreading on pieces of bread or rolls. In winter, such a treat is it!
