Cooking chicken and potatoes in foil in the oven:
Step 1: prepare the chicken drumsticks.
Rinse chilled (not frozen) chicken drumsticks with cold water, remove part of the rough skin from the joints, if necessary, singe or pluck the remaining feathers. Dry your drumsticks with disposable paper towels.
Peel the garlic cloves and cut each into two or three equal parts.
Make small punctures in the chicken drumsticks and insert the chopped garlic cloves into them. Rub poultry with spices and salt.
Step 2: prepare the onion.
Peel the onions and cut into fairly thick rings. It is not necessary to disassemble, separate the rings.
Step 3: prepare the potatoes.
Peel potatoes from the skin and eyes. Rinse with warm water from sand and other dirt. Cut the prepared potatoes with plump cubes or straws, and then lay it on disposable paper towels, allowing them to absorb excess moisture.
Step 4: prepare the cheese.
Cut off the peel from the cheese, if any, and then grate it on a medium or fine grater. If you took mozzarella cheese, then you can simply cut it into thin slices.
Step 5: bake chicken with potatoes in a foil in the oven.
Take a rectangular piece of foil and lay it in front of you. This recipe shows the number of ingredients per serving, but I usually cook several at once to be enough for everyone, and besides, 4-5 single servings are on the baking sheet.
Lay on a foil all the ingredients in layers in the following order: onion slices, potatoes, a little salt, chicken drumsticks and grated cheese at the very end. Gently bend a piece of foil in half, as if closing a book, fix the edges and try to have free space between the cheese and the top layer of foil.
Transfer the chicken and potatoes in foil to a baking sheet and send to bake in a preheated 180-200 degrees oven on 50-60 minutes. Yes, the cooking time in foil is slightly longer than usual, be sure to keep this in mind so as not to bring raw chicken to the table. In the end, you can always carefully open one serving, check its readiness and wrap everything back if you need to return it to the oven.
Serve chicken and potatoes in foil to the table immediately after cooking.
Step 6: serve the chicken and potatoes, baked in foil in the oven.
Baked chicken with potatoes in foil will be an excellent lunch or dinner. Especially if you add tomato sauce and fresh herbs to it. It turns out just a merger, be sure to try!
Enjoy your meal!
- To prepare this dish, you can use other parts of the chicken, for example, thighs, chicken legs, breasts and fillets.
- To make the dish less greasy, remove the skin from the chicken drumsticks.
- For flavor, you can put a slice of lemon between chicken and potatoes, especially if you like light sourness.
