Cooking tomato salad for the winter:

Step 1: prepare the tomatoes.


Rinse the tomatoes with warm running water and pat dry with disposable towels or napkins. Cut clean vegetables into large pieces (as a salad), removing the stalks along the way.

Step 2: fill the jars.


Prepare clean cans with a volume of 500 milliliters before 1 liter. In cans of such a volume, it is more convenient to prepare a tomato salad, since after opening the harvesting will not be idle for a long time, so you need to use it all at once, which means it is easier to break a large amount of salad into small portions.
Fold the tomato slices in the prepared jars, trying to ensure that they all appear in the direction of the slice down. Fill the container to the very top and even a little more, as the vegetables will settle in the process.

Step 3: we prepare a tomato salad for the winter.


Pour the sliced ‚Äč‚Äčtomato into the jar with sugar and salt. Cover them loosely.

Make cans of salad in the pan (cover the bottom of the pan with a towel, a thick cloth or put a special wooden tray in it), fill the water so that it covers 2/3 of the height of the cans. Now boil the water and, after boiling, over low heat, sterilize the tomato salad for 20 minutes.
You will notice that the tomatoes will settle and put in quite a lot of juice.
After sterilization, carefully, protecting hands with tacks, remove the jars of tomato salad and tightly close their lids. Turn the workpieces upside down and leave them as they are until they cool completely. When the cans and tomatoes inside them have cooled to room temperature, the harvest for the winter will be ready and will only have to hide it until the onset of cold weather.

Step 4: serve the tomato salad.


Tomato salad prepared for the winter can be served as a cold snack or as an addition to the side dish. But you can also cook various dishes using it, just as if they were ordinary fresh tomatoes. So stew potatoes with them, bake meat and add to various salads or pastries (pizzas, tarts).
