Ingredients for Canned Tomatoes

Ingredients per 1 liter jar

  1. Fresh Tomatoes
  2. Sugar 3 tablespoons (with a slide)
  3. Salt 1 teaspoon (with a slide)
  4. Citric acid 3/4 teaspoon (or slightly less)
  5. Water optional

Inventory:

Glass jars, lids, saucepan, soup ladle, can opener, blanket or plaid.

Cooking canned tomatoes:

Step 1: Prepare the jars.


Prepare the jars very carefully in which you will preserve the tomatoes. Wash each solution of baking soda, not forgetting to rinse the dishes thoroughly with clean water several times afterwards, and sterilize the container in any way convenient for you. Covers also need to be prepared.

Step 2: Prepare the tomatoes.


Tomatoes are suitable only ripe, dense, without all kinds of spots, dents and cracks on the skin.
Rinse the selected tomatoes properly. It is best to put them in a colander and rinse for a while under warm running water, and then leave to dry.

Step 3: Preserve the tomatoes.


Pretty tight, but without too much fanaticism, put the tomatoes in prepared jars. In a saucepan, boil clean water (it is better to take not the one from the tap, but key or purchased) and pour tomatoes directly with boiling water. Cover the filled cans with lids and leave as they are on 15-20 minutes. Then the water will need to be drained and boiled again.

In the meantime, the water boils for the second time, pour sugar, salt and citric acid into each jar. Pour it all right on the tomatoes. And when the water boils a second time, immediately pour it into banks.

After which the tomatoes will only have to be completely preserved. To do this, put lids on the cans and roll them up using a special canning key.
Turn the tomatoes prepared in this way upside down and wrap them in a blanket or plaid. And only when the jars and their contents have cooled, the blanket can be removed, and the tomatoes themselves sent to be stored in a cool place inaccessible to sunlight.

Step 4: Serve canned tomatoes.


Canned tomatoes are a very healthy and tasty snack. They contain many vitamins, which we strive to preserve by harvesting these vegetables for the winter. In addition, tomatoes are very tasty in any form. You can add them to soups, prepare various sauces based on them, the latter is very important if the workpiece is a little unsuccessful and, for example, contains a lot of salt. In general, canned tomatoes are a solid benefit and yummy, so cook them and eat for health.
