Multicooked Chicken Stew


Ingredients for cooking stewed cabbage with chicken in a slow cooker

  1. White cabbage 650-700 grams
  2. Chicken meat (fillet, breast, thighs, wings, legs, etc.) 400 grams
  3. Carrots 2-3 pieces (depending on size)
  4. Onion 2 pieces
  5. Tomato paste or mashed fresh tomato 1-2 tablespoons
  6. Vegetable oil 2 tablespoons
  7. Bay leaf 1-2 pieces
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Ground black pepper to taste

Cooking stewed cabbage with chicken in a slow cooker:

Step 1: Prepare the chicken.


Thaw chicken first. In my case, this is fillet, but you can cook stewed cabbage with any parts of the bird, the main thing is to prepare them correctly, that is, cut off excess fat, remove skin, if you want to make the dish more dietary, and rinse thoroughly with cold water. In the same way, after defrosting, the fillet must be rinsed and then dried with paper towels.
Cut the prepared chicken into small pieces, and in the case of wings and legs, leave whole or chop along the joint, where possible.

Step 2: Prepare the carrots.


Rinse the carrots, peel off the carrots, rinse them again, dry them with disposable paper towels and chop them using a coarse grater or Korean carrot grater.

Step 3: Prepare the onion.


Peel the onions, cut off the tips from them on both sides, rinse with cool water and cut into small cubes.

Step 4: Cook the roast.


Put on the slow cooker mode "Fry"pour on its bottom 2 dining rooms tablespoons of vegetable oil, wait until it warms up and pour pieces of chicken, carrot and onion into it, stirring occasionally, cook everything for 7-9 minutes, a lot of frying vegetables with meat is not necessary, just let it soften and change color.

Step 5: Prepare the cabbage.


While the chicken is fried, prepare the cabbage. First peel off all the upper, dried leaves from it, then rinse the remaining leaves and remove the bitter stalk. Divide the cabbage thus prepared into halves and chop into thin strips, and then shake hands, but not very much.

Step 6: Cook the stewed cabbage with chicken in a slow cooker.


Put chopped and mashed cabbage on top of the chicken fried with vegetables. Add to taste salt, black pepper, put a couple of bay leaves and 1-2 canteens spoons tomato paste or mashed fresh tomato. Mix well. If you think that the cabbage is not juicy enough, you can add a little hot boiled water.

Choose a mode on the multicooker "Extinguishing" and set the timer on 20-40 minutes, depending on the freshness of your cabbage, because young ones need to be cooked less, and later - longer. Close the lid of your miracle pot and go about your business while the slow cooker is preparing a hearty and tasty dish for you. As soon as the appliance informs you that the time set for cooking has expired, turn it off and serve the stewed cabbage with chicken to the table.

Step 7: Serve the chicken stew cooked in a slow cooker.


Chicken stew is really an appetizing and healthy dish, so boldly serve it for lunch or dinner, without worrying that someone will leave the table hungry. After all, your cabbage was not only tasty, but also hearty. It can only be supplemented with homemade buns or a couple of slices of rye bread.

Recipe Tips:

- To make fresh tomato puree, first peel the vegetables from the skins, then grind them in a blender, adding salt and black pepper to taste.
