Ovens for making yogurt cakes in the oven
- Wheat flour 400 grams
- Kefir 1 cup
- Soda 1/3 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Dried thyme to taste
- Ground coriander to taste

Cooking kefir cakes in the oven:
Step 1: Prepare the cake dough.
Kefir for the preparation of these cakes should be warmed to room temperature, for this, remove it from the refrigerator in advance. Pour the fermented milk product into a deep plate, add soda to it, mix and wait 2-3 minutesuntil the reaction passes. You will hear a characteristic hiss. Then add dried thyme and ground coriander with salt. And lastly, gradually add wheat flour, sifting it through a sieve. At first, you can even begin to knead the dough with a mixer or a spoon, but soon it will become too tight for this, then you can start to knead it with your hands. Then cover the resulting mass with a kitchen towel and leave on 20-30 minutesso that the flour is finally wet from kefir, even if we do not mix everything very well.
Step 2: Form the cakes.
Spread baking paper on the countertop and spread the sticky and viscous dough on it, forming cakes with your hands. In size and shape, they can be any, the main thing is that in thickness they are no more than one and a half centimeters. Knead the dough directly with your hands, spreading and ivy with your fingers.
Step 3: Bake the cakes in the oven.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius, drag the paper along with the cake blanks onto a baking sheet, and then send everything to bake on 5-7 minutes or until the top of your baking is covered with a delicious blush. Then open the oven door and turn the flat cakes with the fry side down and continue cooking 5-7 minutesuntil the second side is browned. Then remove the finished baked goods from the oven, transfer to a bread box or serve.
Step 4: Serve the tortillas.
Kefir cakes are wonderful as the basis for sandwiches, perfectly fit in with any soup and are simply very tasty on their own with tea or coffee. It’s also very cool to break them with your hands, smear them with oil and just like that send them to your mouth.
