Making salad with lemon:
Step 1: Prepare the lemon.
Rinse the lemon, lay it on a cutting board and peel it. Cut it with a knife along with the white part, so that after cleaning you will see only the bare pulp of the fruit in front of you. Then carefully cut the lemon into thin circles, simultaneously picking out the seeds with the tip of the knife so that they do not fall into the salad. Divide the resulting round slices into six or eight pieces, cutting them crosswise in pieces. Original triangles of small size should come out.
Step 2: Prepare the Spinach.
Fold the spinach in a colander and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Optionally, you can cut the leaves into smaller pieces, or you can leave them whole so as not to lose a drop of juice from them. However, if you didn’t choose young spinach, but older, then it is definitely better to chop thin strips.
Step 3: Prepare the mint.
Rinse a bunch of fresh mint under running water. And then cut the leaves with kitchen scissors, separating them from the hard stems. It is not necessary to chop fresh mint into smaller pieces.
Step 4: Mix the salad with lemon.
In a deep plate, pour all the greens, that is, spinach and mint, add small slices of lemon pulp to them and mix by hand or with a salad spoon. Then pour a little salt and black pepper, mix again to distribute the spices, and pour olive oil at the very end of the salad. That's all! Time to start serving dishes.
Step 5: Serve the lemon salad.
A ready-made salad with lemon is an ideal addition to poultry or fish dishes, such as delicious fried chicken or mackerel baked in the oven. It will complement the hot dish with its aroma and fresh taste, and will make your meal unforgettable and truly summer. Importantly, do not forget to decorate each serving with a juicy slice of lemon, which will emphasize the appearance of your salad.
Enjoy your meal!
- Many housewives also prefer to add slightly roasted pine nuts to this salad.
- It is not advisable to use sunflower oil for the preparation of this salad, as it still has an inappropriate flavor and smell.
- You need to refuel this salad just before serving, otherwise it will not be as juicy and crispy as it should be.
