Chinese cabbage and tuna salad


Ingredients for Salad with Peking Cabbage and Tuna

Making a salad with Chinese cabbage and tuna:

Step 1: prepare the onion.


Peel the onions, as usual, from the husk, cutting off the ends on both sides. Then you should crumble this ingredient in very small cubes.

Step 2: prepare the Beijing cabbage.


Rip a head of Beijing cabbage by removing the old top leaves that are withered and brown. Taking a hand by the base, rinse the cabbage under a stream of warm running water, dry by shaking it. Place the forks prepared in this way on a cutting board and cut, chop it into thin strips. But don't get to the bottom, leave 3-4 centimeters and throw away the leftovers. Fold the chopped green leaves at the bottom of a deep salad bowl.

Step 3: prepare the cucumbers.


Shake pickled cucumbers from brine and cut into small cubes.

Step 4: prepare the tuna.


Open a can of canned tuna, drain the excess liquid. Mash the fish flesh with a regular table fork, turning the tuna into porridge. This is usually done very quickly and easily.

Step 5: prepare canned peas.


Open a jar of green peas and pour its contents into a colander. This is done in order to drain the unnecessary liquid, while not missing a single pea. If there is no colander at hand, then you can simply drain the water from the can, holding its contents with a tablespoon.

Step 6: mix the salad ingredients.


Pour all the prepared ingredients into a salad bowl, where Beijing cabbage has already been waiting for. Of course, you can put everything on a plate as soon as you are ready, in this case it does not matter.

Season the salad with mayonnaise, salt to taste and sprinkle with black ground pepper. Now gently mix everything together, and in order not to crush the peas and not tear the leaves, use a couple of salad spoons. Move them from the opposite edges of the plate to the center, scooping and turning the salad.

Step 7: serve salad with Beijing cabbage and tuna.


Transfer the finished salad to a deep salad bowl. You do not need to insist it, so immediately after cooking serve the dish to the table. And if you need to give the salad a festive look, take one or two pickled cucumbers, cut them lengthwise into quarters and put them on the center of the salad with an asterisk or flower, if you want.
