Ingredients for Cooking Potato Casseroles with Vegetables

Cooking potato casseroles with vegetables:

Step 1: prepare the potatoes.

Using a vegetable cutter, peel the potatoes from the skins and then rinse thoroughly under running warm water to remove any remaining soil and other dirt. Next, spread the vegetables on a cutting board and use a knife to cut into large pieces.

Shredded tubers are transferred to a medium pan and completely filled with ordinary cold water so that the liquid covers the potatoes somewhere 3-4 fingers. We put the container on a large fire and do not completely cover it with a lid. Let the water boil. Closer to this, foam will appear on its surface, so do not forget to remove it with a slotted spoon and throw it into the sink. Next, boil the potatoes for 30-35 minutes until ready. At the end of the allotted time, I advise you to check the vegetables using a fork. If the inventory easily enters the pulp of the tubers, then everything is ready and you can turn off the burner. If not, then it’s worthwhile to extend the cooking time for 7-10 minutes.

In the end, using the kitchen tack, we take the pan with the lid ajar and pour the liquid into the sink so that the potatoes remain in the container.
Now, using the pusher, we bring the component to the state of mashed potatoes. Leave the potatoes aside for a while so that it cools slightly. In the meantime, we will prepare the remaining ingredients.

Step 2: prepare hard cheese.

Using a medium grater, grate hard cheese directly on the cutting board. Then pour the chips into a free plate.

Step 3: prepare the vegetable mixture.

Pour a small amount of vegetable oil into the pan and put on medium heat. When it warms up well, carefully spread the frozen mixture of vegetables into the container. Important: We do this with all caution, since the interaction of hot oil with water produces splashes that can burn your hands. Next, fry the components for 5-7 minutesconstantly stirring them with a wooden spatula. At the end, turn off the burner, and set the pan aside.

Step 4: prepare the egg-milk mixture.

Using a knife, break the eggshell, and pour the yolks with squirrels into a medium bowl. We pour milk here, as well as salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Using an immersion blender, beat all the ingredients at medium speed until a homogeneous, fluffy mixture is formed. Next, pour grated hard cheese here and once again mix everything with improvised inventory.

Step 5: prepare a potato casserole with vegetables.

Pour the egg and milk mixture with cheese into mashed potatoes and, using a tablespoon, mix everything thoroughly until smooth. Attention: if desired, the mass can be whipped again with a hand blender.
Next, put the fried vegetables in the container and mix everything thoroughly.

Now turn on the oven and heat it to a temperature 180 degrees. In the meantime, spread the potato mixture with vegetables into a deep baking dish and be sure to level its surface with a tablespoon. So the casserole is smooth and beautiful. When the oven warms up to the desired temperature, put the container with the dish on the average level and bake for 25-30 minutes until a golden golden crust appears on the surface. Immediately after that, turn off the oven, and take out the form with the help of kitchen tacks and set aside. Let the casserole cool slightly.

Step 6: serve the potato casserole with vegetables.

We transfer the finished potato casserole with vegetables from the mold to a special flat plate and serve it to the dining table. After that, you can cut the casserole with a knife into portioned pieces and treat friends and household along with tea, coffee and other drinks at their discretion. - in such a casserole you can put various vegetables, both fresh and frozen. For example, it can be tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, onions and much more to your taste;

- cheese does not have to be added to the mashed potato itself. They can be sprinkled on the surface of the dish before cooking;
