Making onion pie from puff pastry:

Step 1: Prepare the dough.

Before starting to cook, puff pastry must be thawed, it must be done in accordance with the instructions on its packaging. After it you need to divide it into two equal parts and slightly roll each layer separately, because one will be the main one for the cake, and the second we will cover the product. Important: do not forget to sprinkle the tabletop with flour so that the dough does not stick and does not tear.

Step 2: Prepare the onion.

Cut each onion into halves, so it will be easier to remove the husk, and peel them. Then crumble the ingredient with chubby half rings. Heat a little vegetable oil in a pan and fry onion slices in it. You need to cook quite a bit, until golden brown. Put the fried onions on disposable paper towels to remove excess fat and let them cool.

Step 3: Prepare the processed cheese.

Grind the melted cheese with a fine or medium grater. So far, nothing more needs to be done with him.

Step 4: Form the onion cake from the puff pastry.

Break three chicken eggs into a deep bowl and beat thoroughly with a whisk. Then pour the cooled fried onions and grated processed cheese there. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Mix all the ingredients for the filling together.
Place parchment paper inside the baking dish and grease it with vegetable oil. Lay the first layer of dough inward so that its edges stick out slightly, and pour the prepared filling into it. Close the pie with a second piece of dough and tightly blind the edges together, if they are uneven, then slightly cut them with a knife.

Step 5: Bake the onion pie from puff pastry.

Set the oven to warm up 200-220 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in the bowl, break the remaining egg and, whisking it, grease the resulting mass on top and edges of the pie. Place the product in the oven and bake until golden brown, then lower the temperature to 170 degrees and continue cooking yet 30-40 minutes. After cooking, the onion pie from the puff pastry needs to be cooled, for this, remove it from the oven and wait until the product reaches room temperature. That's all! You can start serving the finished dish on the table.

Step 6: Serve the onion pie from the puff pastry.

Serve onion pie from puff pastry in warm or cold form, that is, if you store it in the refrigerator, then you do not need to heat it at all. Cut the pie into portioned pieces and arrange on saucers.
