Cooking french fries in the oven:
Step 1: prepare the oven, baking sheet and potatoes.
First of all, turn on the oven for heating at 250 degrees Celsius or 482 Fahrenheit. Then we cover the non-stick baking sheet with a sheet of baking or parchment paper, although if it has a non-stick or regular enamel coating, there is no need for additional bedding, but it is better to put the foil only when the surface of this equipment is badly damaged. Then, using a sharp kitchen knife, peel the right amount of potatoes and thoroughly rinse it under trickles of cold running water.
After that, we dry the tubers, put them on a cutting board and chop the straws with a thickness of 5 to 7 millimeters.
We don’t lose a minute, move the cut onto a cotton towel, wrap it and dry it thoroughly again, so that there is no moisture left at all!
Now we drop the potatoes in a dry, deep bowl, season with vegetable oil, to taste with salt and paprika. With clean hands, thoroughly mix the vegetable with spices, so that they stick around the slices with a thin layer on all sides, and proceed to the next, almost final step.
Step 2: cook the fries in the oven.
We spread the potato straws on a baking sheet prepared for baking in one even layer, if its dimensions allow, then it is better to distribute the slices of the vegetable at a small distance from each other, at least 1 centimeter. Then we check the temperature of the oven and, if it has warmed up, put a still raw dish on the middle rack.
Bake french fries for 30 minutes, although sometimes it takes 20, and sometimes 40, but it all depends on the variety of this vegetable. Every 5-7 minutes, it is better to turn the slices from side to side with a kitchen spatula to brown evenly.
After the required time has passed or when the meal is ready, we pull the kitchen gloves in our hands, move the baking sheet to the cutting board, previously laid on the countertop, and allow the fragrant miracle to cool slightly. After that, distribute it in portions on plates and serve immediately to the table.
Step 3: serve the fries in the oven.
Oven fries are served hot or warm as a full-fledged second vegetarian dish or as a side dish for meat, poultry, fish or game. After cooking, slices of the vegetable are optionally additionally crushed with a portion of salt, mixed, laid out on plates and set on the table with refreshing additions: sauces based on mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, as well as fresh vegetable salads, marinades or pickles, and, of course, bread.
