Braised String Beans

Ingredients for the Preparation of String Braised Beans

  1. String beans 500 grams
  2. Fresh tomatoes 200 grams
  3. Onion 1 piece
  4. Garlic 2-3 cloves
  5. Dried oregano 1.5 teaspoons (or to taste)

A colander, a frying pan with high fields, a wooden spatula, a kitchen knife, a cutting board, a garlic press, a pan, kitchen potholders for hot dishes.

Cooking Bean Stew:

Step 1: Prepare the beans.

Sort beans, excluding spoiled pods. Divide the selected ingredients into several parts and do not forget to cut off the ends. Place the bean pods in a colander and rinse them thoroughly with water. Then transfer the ingredient to the pan and pour a very small amount of water. Put everything on a fast fire and bring to a boil. Then reduce and cook the bean pods over low heat until they begin to crunch a little. In time, this process leaves 12 to 15 minutes. After cooking, recline the pods in a colander and cool them with cold tap water. Leaving everything in a colander and fixing it on a weight, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Prepare the tomatoes.

Rinse the tomatoes just as well and wipe them well with your hands, thus removing dirt adhering to the skin. Divide each vegetable into two halves and extract the place where the stalk used to be. Cut clean tomatoes into small cubes.

Step 3: Prepare the onion.

Rub the onion slightly in your hands, gently pressing it. After such a procedure, it will be easier to peel off the husk. Rinse clean onions with cool water and chop them into small cubes, just like tomatoes chopped before.

Step 4: Prepare the garlic.

Separate the cloves of garlic from the head and peel them off. Cut off the tips. Grind the garlic cloves yourself using a special press. If you do not have such a tricky device, then use a grater with small holes.

Step 5: Stew the beans.

Fry the onions in a skillet with high edges using vegetable oil. Do not forget to mix it all the time to avoid burning.

As soon as the onion becomes transparent and covered with a golden crust, add slices of tomato to it. Mix and season with spices again, that is, pour chopped garlic, dried oregano, salt and pepper into the pan. Mix everything together again. Simmer without lid for 5-7 minutesso that juice begins to stand out from the tomato.

As a last step, add boiled beans to other vegetables. Stir the dish and cook, cover, yet 5-7 minutes over low heat. Important: Before you turn down the heat, the liquid should boil. Once the specified time has passed, the dish is ready and you can start serving.

Step 6: Serve the braised green beans.

Braised green beans are served hot, freshly cooked or preheated as needed. It can be served as a main dish, or as a side dish for meat dishes. In any case, enjoy the wonderful taste of healthy and satisfying beans.

Recipe Tips:

- Instead of fresh beans, you can take frozen. In this case, pre-boiling this ingredient will be unnecessary.

- In winter, use canned tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes. But first remove the skin from them and let the pulp in the dish.

- If you cook this dish without calculating that children will eat it, then you can increase the number of spices to your taste and desire.
