Stuffed Pepper in a slow cooker


Ingredients for Cooking Stuffed Peppers

  1. Bulgarian pepper 1 kilogram
  2. Minced meat 700 grams
  3. Rice 70 grams
  4. Onions 3 pieces (medium)
  5. 3 carrots
  6. Tomatoes 3 pieces
  7. Sour cream 2 tablespoons (optional)
  8. Vegetable oil 3 tablespoons
  9. Bay leaf 1 piece
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Pepper to taste
  12. Egg 1 piece

Inventory:

Slow cooker, coarse grater, deep bowl, knife for cleaning vegetables, spatula, colander, kitchen knife, cutting board.

Cooking stuffed peppers in a slow cooker:

Step 1: Prepare the peppers.


To get started, take the Bulgarian peppers and inspect them properly for signs of damage or dark spots. Choose larger samples. Rinse the selected vegetables, with a knife, remove the top with the tail from them, but carefully, because in the future we will make a hat out of it - an ornament for stuffed peppers. Also, do not forget to peel the vegetables from the inside, removing the seeds and core. Rinse clean peppers with water.

Step 2: Prepare the carrots with onions.


Peel the carrots with a special knife. Do not forget to cut off the tops, if any, and rinse the peeled vegetables under running water. Grind clean carrots with a large or medium grater and visually divide into three equal parts.
Peel the onion and rinse as well, then crumble into small cubes or pass through a meat grinder.

Step 3: Prepare the minced meat with rice.


Thaw the minced meat at room temperature, and it is better to transfer it from the freezer to the refrigerator in the evening, then by the beginning of cooking it will just be the consistency we need.
Put the rice groats in a colander and rinse with water until the liquid becomes clear. Fold the washed rice to the minced meat.
Mix the minced meat, 1/3 of the whole grated carrots and rice, adding the egg and spices to taste. Knead the filling with your hands until it is completely homogeneous and all the spices are evenly distributed.

Step 4: Stuffing Peppers


Stuffed bell peppers stuffed with cooked filling. Do not forget to do everything carefully without damaging the skin. Press the filling lightly with your fingers so that it fits tightly inside the vegetables and does not fall out.

Step 5: Prepare the tomatoes.


Rinse the tomatoes, cut with a knife the place where the peduncle used to be, and chop the vegetables into small pieces. You can also just pass them through a meat grinder or grind in a blender.

Step 6: Cook the stuffed peppers in the slow cooker.


In the slow cooker, select the mode "Bakery products" and pour vegetable oil to the bottom of the appliance. Put onion and remaining carrots. Fry vegetables 15-20 minutes without closing the lid. Do not forget to salt and pepper the dish, if you think it is necessary. Per 5 minutes before frying is ready mix it with a couple of tablespoons of sour cream.

Stuff the stuffed peppers on top of the carrots and onions fried in sour cream, carefully covering them with hats from their tops. Mix the crushed tomatoes with the right amount of water and pour this mixture into the slow cooker so that it practically covers the last layer of peppers, but does not rise above the maximum permissible level. Add bay leaf and spices, again, if you find it necessary. Close the cover of the multicooker, change the mode to "Extinguishing" and set the timer to 2 hours. That's all, it remains to wait until the end of a given program and serve your ready-made and mouth-watering peppers to the table.

Step 7: Serve the stuffed peppers.


Put the stewed stuffed peppers cooked in the multicooker on portioned plates, pouring plenty of sauce in which they also prepared. Now call your whole family to dine, while the dish is still hot and has not had time to cool.

Recipe Tips:

- You can use not only mixed minced meat, but also separately beef, pork, as well as chicken and mutton. I haven’t met recipes with minced fish, but I think that in this case everything will turn out very tasty.

- Instead of rice groats, it is quite possible to use buckwheat.

- To taste, you can replace sour cream with tomato paste or simply mix them together if you like this combination.
