Cooking chicken with potatoes in a pan:

Step 1: Prepare the chicken.

Cut the chicken carcass into five parts. Separate the hips along the joints, part of the breast with wing and back. Set the back aside, you can use it later in another dish. Cut off the excess skin so that it does not hang out, and the chicken pieces have a presentation.
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Put the chicken there, salt and pepper to taste. Fry over medium heat until golden brown, turning over all the time. At this stage of cooking, it will take you 25-40 minutes depending on the original size of the chicken carcass. The larger the pieces, the more time it will take to prepare them.

Step 2: Prepare the onion.

While the chicken is cooking, rinse the green onions, cut off the ends and chop with a knife.

Step 3: Prepare the potatoes.

Rinse the potatoes and peel them. Crush in large cubes. Soaking potatoes is not necessary.

Step 4: Cook the chicken and potatoes in a pan.

Add the chopped chives to the fried chicken. Put out more 5-7 minutes. Greens should soften a little.
Without turning off the heat, remove the chicken from the pan, leaving only the onions.
Pour the potatoes onto the onions, salt, add pepper or spices to taste. From above onto the vegetables, as if on a pillow, fold the fried chicken. Pour water into the pan so that it covers the potatoes, but only slightly reaches the meat. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat if necessary. Stew chicken with potatoes yet 35-40 minutes or until potatoes are fully cooked.

Step 5: Serve the chicken and potatoes.

Serve the cooked chicken and potatoes hot. An additional side dish is not required, as this dish is self-sufficient. Excess broth can be drained or served along with meat and vegetables. Offer pieces of fragrant black bread to this hot dish.
Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- Instead of green onions, you can use onions, but then it is better to add fresh parsley or dill to the finished dish.

- It is best not to mix the potatoes during the cooking process so that it does not fall apart. But, if this still happened, then drain the excess liquid, add the butter and mash the potatoes with a fork, you will get wonderful mashed potatoes with green onions.

- You can use chicken thighs or drumsticks to cook this dish.
