Really good! Super dense and moist so if you love that type of baked good you will love this. Next time I will add nuts because for me I think it would make it even better. Thanks for sharing!!UPDATE - I tried the bread with the nuts and suprisingly I did not like it as much. Made it a third time adding some raisins and absolutely loved the addition. Also increased the cinnamon to 2 tsp.-01 Apr 2013

Very good -- dense and sweet. I consider it a dessert bread. The changes I made to the recipe was to use 2.5 cups of cubed McIntosh apples to which I added the juice of one lemon. I also added a teaspoon of lemon zest to the dry ingredients. I also used a full teaspoon of ground cinnamon.-13 Oct 2013

I love this recipe, however, I have to admit, I changed it somewhat. My daughter had made this and said that she had replaced some of the oil with applesauce. One of the other comments said that it was awfully sweet, and I am trying to cut down on fat and sugar, so......I cut the sugar in half (only 1 cup), omitted the oil and put in 1 cup of applesauce. It turned out scrumptious!-30 Apr 2014

We don’t know who Debbie is, but we sure do love her for sharing this apple bread recipe with her friend so many years ago! It comes loaded with two full cups of mouthwatering apple chunks distributed throughout this cinnamon-sugary loaf. And it only takes a few minutes to whip up the batter! Learn more here.

: This is Debbie’s Amazing Apple Bread and AMAZING it is. Everybody in my house could not stop talking about it. The loaf was gone in a day. Every bite we just raved about this bread that really is more like a cake. The top creates this amazing crust in the oven. Seriously, you have to try this out!

: I have never made a bad recipe from Ree Drummond and this one certainly did not disappoint. If you have children, I would definitely try this one out. I did cut the recipe in half, but would absolutely make the full recipe next time. We attempted the blender first and it did not work to smooth it out. We did have to use a food processor.
: Whenever I think of fall and apples, I think of apple pie or apple crisp. We made an apple pie a few months back, so apple crisp was on the list this time. I do have to admit that I cut the amount of apples back and forgot to cut back the toppings so it was EXTRA sweet, but delicious. Highly recommend.

: A friend sent me this recipe and I was so excited to try to make my own apple chips. I used the oven and it took WAY longer than the recipe said, but they turned out PERFECT. I ended up leaving them in the oven at least 2 hours longer than the recipe stated. If you have time and love apple chips, try it out! I would recommend using a sweet apple. I do think a mandolin is also necessary to get the apples sliced evenly, too!

I also love the apple pie recipe that is linked at the end of THIS post.

I am hoping that we will get another day of apple picking in before Fall is over, but I am not sure how that will work with their crop and the freeze!

What Kind of Apples?

I used a variety of apples (Braeburn, Granny Smith and Honeycrisp) because I like the blend of sweet and tart.

Also, with different varieties the textures and flavors of the final cake are deeper and more complex. You can certainly use only one kind if that's what you have!

But if you're specifically shopping for this recipe, I suggest you pick up a couple different kinds.

In her memory, I am naming this Močiute's Lithuanian Apple Cake. Enjoy with your morning coffee or for dessert, warmed and topped with a scoop of ice cream.
