Method of preparation:

Preheat the oven to 170C. Place baking paper in a tray. Add oatmeal, almonds, hazelnuts, coconut and in the pan and mix gently. Bake for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add the wheat germ. Reduce the oven temperature to 150C. Add butter, honey, brown sugar, vanilla and salt in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.

Cook for 1 minute, then pour over the oatmeal mixture. Mix well. Add the chocolate flakes and mix. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.

The best cereal bars are those prepared at home, in the oven or even in the raw version, without any kind of thermal preparation.
Today we will make these vegetarian whole grain bars with dried fruits (apples, blueberries, dehydrated pineapple, raisins), almonds, cashews and ground hazelnuts, in the completely fire-free version. Why did I choose this variant? Because only this way the properties of the ingredients in the composition (cereals, nuts, extra virgin coconut butter) can be kept intact and the glycemic index of the sweet components (agave syrup, cereal flakes, fruits) does not change.
Cold preparation requires the use of coconut butter, which is solid at room temperature. Extra virgin coconut butter is very healthy and pleasantly aromatic. It will give the consistency of the bars and will allow the modeling of a rectangular shape very quickly.

Ingredient:
-one of extra virgin coconuts
-whole oat flakes
-whole wheat flakes
-dried wheat germ
-agave syrup
-crushed walnuts (hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, almonds, etc.)
-dried fruits (blueberries, apple pieces, raisins, etc.)
-optionally, candy or candied orange peel (attention, these can not be considered "raw vegan" products, so use them only if you do not want a strictly raw recipe)


Dried walnuts and apples are ground in a blender.

Energy bars

When you feel deprived of energy or you have a craving for something sweet, these snacks bring you extra protein and energy. I know it sounds like a TV commercial, but that's exactly where you put it because they are also healthy and can successfully replace pretzels or peanuts crunched between meals. I admit that I rarely buy something like that, in stores there are a lot of products like this, I usually eat a fruit or drink a coffee but sometimes I feel the need to & # 8222 face & # 8221 something so I decided to prepare at home, a sweet in line with many fibers and proteins.

You've probably seen that I still have a recipe or two for energizing stuff, it's not true considering that there are over 1000 recipes on the blog, for me it's a new chapter, I can't really invent a recipe for energizing bars so I have I chose to be inspired by the net where honestly there are dozens of sites or even hundreds with recipes of this kind. I found that they are very easy to make, they basically consist of a base made of cereals, pseudo cereals or dried fruits and a binder that can be peanut butter or coconut oil. Let's not forget the sweet that can be honey, agave syrup or a little dark chocolate. The formula is ready, it remains to see the proportions and as you suspect the combinations can be many, depending on what you have in the pantry. I know you don't have stuff like that in the pantry, but you can buy a few bags or jars from each and then use them for bars, cookies, granola, or energy shakes. Well, if I convinced you it remains to be seen, I said I was extremely satisfied with the result, the bars were excellent in taste, they came out quite a lot from the quantities below plus they ate the peas with pleasure. . Let's see the recipe :)

Energy bars

Ingredients for 12 pcs:

  • 225g oatmeal
  • 70g pumpkin seeds
  • 40g sunflower seeds
  • 75g almonds, hazelnuts or walnut kernels
  • 40g chia seeds
  • 80g chopped dried apricots
  • 30g goji
  • 70g dried blueberries or raisins if you do not have
  • 100g coconut oil (or butter)
  • 60g brown sugar
  • 90g honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 75g chopped dark chocolate

To start, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Put in a tray put oatmeal, pumpkin seeds and sunflower. Fry them for 8-10 minutes then take them out and let them cool.

From here everything becomes even simpler in a bowl we put all the ingredients except coconut oil, sugar, honey, chocolate and mix them easily.

In a smaller pot add the honey, coconut oil, sugar, heat them until the sugar dissolves and then leave for another minute.

Pour the hot mixture over the ingredients in the bowl and mix gently with a spoon. When the mixture has cooled, add the chopped chocolate. I hurried a bit and I didn't wait for it to cool when I put the chocolate but you don't do that :)

We put the mixture in a shape of dimensions 27 & # 21511 cm or a little bigger. The shape must be lined with baking paper, I chose a large cake tray. Press well with your hands until it forms a uniform layer then carefully wrap and put the composition in the refrigerator for an hour.

We unfold the paper and with a sharp knife we ​​cut the bars to the desired size. We wrap them each in baking paper and keep them cold. Honestly, I was afraid that they would be hard to cut because the dizziness is very strong, but you should know that it wasn't like that, I managed to cut them quite easily.

I kept them for about 2 days but I can stay cold even longer although I don't think they will resist the cravings :)
