Hello my dears, today I have something special for you. The other day I cooked with my aunt or as I call her Nana Renata. This woman really knows how to cook and has a lot to teach me. I admit that I took most of the cake recipes from her and shared them with my friends, colleagues and you. As I was saying, I cooked blackberry with her that day (you can find the recipe on my website) but also a cake that she calls ZEBRA. I used the most natural products, namely eggs, cream and homemade butter. I've never eaten such a fine cake that melts in my mouth. I had a prosperous day and learned some things about gastronomy. I'm sure it's not the first and last recipe we cook together. I hope you like the cake and prepare it with pleasure.

Ingredient:

  • 2 glasses - white flour (sifted)
  • 1 glass - sugar
  • 100 gr. - melted butter
  • 1 glass - cream (200 ml.)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons - semolina
  • 1 sachet - baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1 sachet of vanilla sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon (with tip) - natural cocoa
  • Butter and semolina to grease the pan

For decoration:

Method of preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees C.
  2. Mix the sugar and eggs well in a bowl for about 3-4 minutes, until the mixture becomes frothy, then add the flour and mix a little more (the dough will be hard).
  3. Add the cream to the composition and continue to mix, add the semolina, butter and baking powder. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated and the texture has become fluffy.
  4. Take 1/3 of the dough and put it in another bowl. There add 1 tablespoon of cocoa tip and stir until incorporated. In the other bowl with 2/3 of the dough add a teaspoon of vanilla and also mix until it is incorporated.
  5. Grease a round, square or rectangular baking tray with a thick layer of butter so that it can be seen on the tray (so says Nana Renata) then sprinkle a little semolina on top (this helps to remove the cake from the tray more easily).
  6. Start forming the ZEBRA cake with a fairly simple technique. Put 2 tablespoons of vanilla dough and a tablespoon of chocolate dough on top. Continue like this until the dough in both bowls is finished.
  7. Bake the cake for about 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the cake and let it cool, then take it out of the pan and sprinkle it with powdered sugar. Good appetite.

10. Place the cake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for approx. 25-30 minutes.
11. After the cake has cooled, remove the tray and powder it with a little vanilla sugar.
