Would You Wear This Sweet Saba ‘Campari on the Rocks’ Cocktail Ring?

It’s basically an adult ring pop and we’re thrilled

Dreamstime

A partnership between Sweet Saba and Campari has resulted in this cocktail ring flavored liked the deep red Italian bitter.

Sweet Saba, known for their specialty candy for adults, has partnered with Campari to create a Campari cocktail ring which infuses the Italian amaro’s flavor into a piece of candy. We are getting major Ring Pop vibes from the crystal-inspired ring that can also be used to garnish a drink besides its more obvious first use (being worn as a chic accessory).

Unlike a Negroni, this Campari ring doesn’t actually contain any alcohol, as it cooks off during the candy-making process. That means you won’t be getting a buzz from this adult take on the childhood favorite, but instead from other than people asking, “Where did you get that gorgeous ring?”

The $62 accessory is the same gorgeous shade of dark red as the bitter beverage, and the candy crystals are painstakingly hand sculpted. If the hefty price tag doesn’t sound too sweet, 10 percent of the proceeds from each ring sold are going to City Harvest, a charity that donates excess food from restaurants and retailers to the hungry. Thinking of purchasing? You could always use the candy to garnish any of these 10 Halloween drinks.

If you are wondering how to get to the bar, the answer is only one: go to Mag and ask to be admitted. Good luck!

I asked Flavio some questions, here is what he answered.

I’m sure you delight many women with your amazing cocktails. Do you also like cooking?

Yes, I like to prepare curry chicken. When I was 15 I was an apprentice cook, but staying in the kitchen bored me. I needed to see and talk to people. I’ve changed job, but I still love cooking.

Is there some food that you really don’t like?

I don’t eat fish, except sushi.

Cocktails! When I lived in the Caribbean I got passionate about mixology and once back in Milan I started my career as an entrepreneur and I opened first “Mag” and then ”.

What’s your favourite look?

It’s what I am wearing today. I call it my “uniform”, I’m comfortable with this outfit.

I love cream and brown colors, especially in houses and bars.

And what color is your soul?

I asked you to bring some objects that represent you. What do you have?

A pocket watch. I never separate myself from my watch I always carry it with me. Usually inside the pocket of my vest, which I wear with a shirt and my favorite cufflinks.

A ring. It’s a family ring, I mean the Mag Cafè and 1930’s family… I always wear it, we all wear it. It’s our amulet.

Our books. We sell books both at Mag Cafè and 1930, and they are published every four months. In addition to a novel, in each book there are the recipes of our cocktails and our price list.

I have the bad habit of reading the end of books, usually I don’t tell it, but today I would like this post to end with a sentence that I read on your book “The Bogdan Bridge”:

“Sometimes cocktails are like bridges. They bring people together. ”

15 ml (0.5 fl oz) Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge + 15 ml (0.5 fl oz) Rossi d’Angera bitter + 22.5 ml (0.80 fl oz) French dry vermouth + 20 ml (0.70 fl oz) “lager” light beer* + 5 ml (0.17 fl oz) agave syrup + 4 dashes elemakule bitter + ice.

In a glass, put together the agave and the beer. Mix well. Add all the ingredients and ice. Stir and serve.

FLAVIO ANGIOLILLO FW 2014-15 Elisir d'Orange

Red suit, dark shirt, tie and cufflinks. Flavio Angiolillo entered the living room of Taste of Runway with an unmistakable French accent and the typical attitude of someone who knows what he is doing. He is a perfect mix of exuberance, style, curiosity and a hint of vanity. Bartender of fame, Flavio delights the lucky ones with his unique and exclusive cocktails. After traveling around the world (and living a whole year in the Caribbean), he returned to Milan full of energy and gave birth with Marco Russo to two of the most popular bars in the city. “Mag cafè”, at 43 Ripa di Porta Ticinese, where you can sit on comfortable vintage chairs and drink delicious cocktails, and ”, a secret place. Getting there is not easy at all. You need the address, that not even Google knows, and the card that only the boys who work at Mag Cafè may decide to give you. 1930 is a place you don’t even notice from the street. You can access it only through a 16-square- meter shop that sells beers and some other drinks. A first moment of alienation is part of the game, but don’t worry, everything is normal. You just have to say a secret sentence and suddenly a door will open and someone will invite you to enter. The atmosphere inside is unique. It looks like a living room, because it is exactly for this reason that 1930 was created: to chat with friends in peace. If you are wondering how to get to the bar, the answer is only one: go to Mag and ask to be admitted. Good luck!
